La Porte Co-Workers Win $200,000
Sixteen co-workers at the MonoSol manufacturing facility in La Porte received an unexpected bonus of sorts this week. The co-workers claimed a $200,000 Powerball® prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis Tuesday. The group, calling themselves the Sweet 16 won $200,000 in the February 23 Powerball drawing when one of their tickets matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball number. Craig Majcher of La Porte buys the tickets and checks the group’s numbers after every draw. He purchased the lucky ticket from Speedway at 1026 East Lincoln Way in La Porte. The co-workers, who hail from Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, have been playing together since the MonoSol manufacturing facility opened in 2008. Click here to read more about the Sweet 16's story.
