Losantville, IN native wins a scratch-off top prize!
A Randolph County man will have extra peace of mind this winter, after winning a top prize of $90,000 on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off.
Mark Meese, of Losantville, has a morning routine he follows every work day, and it includes stopping to buy a $5 Scratch-off and a $10 Scratch-off. He frequently plays different games, selecting the Scratch-offs that have the least amount left on the roll. Then, he drives to work and scratches them after eating his breakfast.
It was during one of these morning routines this October that he played a Platinum Mine 9X ticket, revealing a top prize winner of $90,000.
“I thought it was a $9,000 winner,” said Mark, who passed it to one of his coworkers for a second look.
“No, dude, that’s a $90,000 winner,” his coworker told him.
Mark, a bricklayer for a Yorktown company, continued with his work day. He also worked the entire following week before coming in to Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis to claim his prize with his fiancée, Teresa.
The couple has no major plans for spending the money. Mark said they would have a little fun, but they planned on putting most of it in the bank.
“It means a more secure winter,” Mark said. As a bricklayer, work slows down for him in the colder months.
Mark purchased the winning ticket at Village Pantry, 911 S. Tillotson Ave. in Muncie. One top prize remains for Platinum Mine 9X.
Estimated Overall Odds for Platinum Mine 9X are 1 in 3.85.
