Indy grandfather claims Hoosier Lotto jackpot!
Indy grandfather hits Hoosier Lotto jackpot
The latest Hoosier Lotto jackpot winner hasn’t lived a dull life. Five years ago he took the scenic route to Alaska, driving 4,200 miles from Indianapolis just for fun. But, he won’t be using his Hoosier Lotto prize to travel. This one’s for the kids.
John N. has lived in Indianapolis for 57 years, and he retired from Eli Lilly after 38 years. He has a son, a daughter and two adult grandchildren. He plays Hoosier Lotto off and on for fun, and Wednesday he hit the estimated $6.5 million jackpot.
“I’m just so grateful I’m here to get it and see my kids,” John said.
He has no major plans for the prize, but said he was looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas with his family.
John discovered he won when he stopped into a retailer to check his tickets. The cashier said, “Oh wow!” and John knew he had a winner. He purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket from Phillips 66, 3301 N. Shadeland Ave. The winning numbers are 4-13-30-35-45-46. John buys his tickets at various retailers, rather than frequenting a specific location.
He chose to take the lump sum cash option.
