Indianapolis nurse wins $250,000 playing Mega Millions®
Last Wednesday, when James Smith of Indianapolis started sending emails to his wife Laurie about new cars he wanted to buy, her response was, “Well, he’s lost his mind. We can’t afford a new car.” Smith hadn’t lost his mind. He had won $250,000 playing Mega Millions – but the jokester hadn’t told his wife. “I waited 24 hours and didn’t tell anybody,” said Smith. When Smith finally told his wife about the win a day later, she thought he was joking, and was not amused. “I finally told him, ‘This is not funny,’” said Laurie Smith. “I still don’t believe it. He still hasn’t shown me the ticket. I don’t think I’ll believe it’s real until the money’s in our account.” Read more of James' story here.
