Lake County man plans to pay bills
Ellis Moore Jr. of Merrillville is about to be completely debt-free after winning $239,000 from the Hoosier Lottery. Ellis matched five of five numbers in the Jan. 16 Cash 5 drawing, a feat that earned him the game's second largest jackpot prize. The Lake County resident claimed his winnings at Hoosier Lottery headquarters Jan. 21 accompanied by his wife of 45 years, Myrtle. With their winnings in the bank, the couple plans to write some big checks. "All my bills are going to be paid off," said Moore. "Every last one." While he was thrilled and excited as he waited for his check, the retiree wasn't exactly surprised by his win. "I always said I was going to win," said Moore. "My wife didn't believe me, but I always said it was going to happen." Click here to find out how easy it is to play Cash 5.
