Monticello man wins $1 million Hoosier Lottery prize
Dwayne Hampton of Monticello is the latest lucky Hoosier to win a top prize on the Lucky Millionaire Scratch-off. Dwayne works as a rehab therapist at the Indiana Veterans Home and his wife Joanne is a medical assistant. The lucky couple plans to use their winnings to buy a new truck, pay off all their financial obligations and put the rest away for their two sons’ educations.
“It’s a big relief,” said Joanne Hampton. “It makes you feel good to know your bills are paid.”
Dwayne purchased his Lucky Millionaire ticket at Eastside Marathon at 723 South Main Street in Monticello. His win is a win that almost wasn't. When he walked into the store last Friday he intended to purchase a different Lottery game. He waffled between two games but eventually decided to go with Lucky Millionaire at the clerk’s friendly urging of, “Oh, go for it!” Dwayne is glad he went for it because he is now the game’s sixth instant millionaire. The game also offers two additional million-dollar prizes through a second-chance promotion. Find out how to enter here.
