Two $50,000 Powerball Players Claim Prizes Today

Amy MillerINDIANAPOLIS – Amy Miller of Fort Wayne and Christina Mains of Frankton are the two latest Powerball winners from Saturday night's draw to claim $50,000 prizes. Both women bought Powerball tickets and purchased Power Play. They each matched four of five white balls plus the Powerball to win $50,000.
"I moved to a new house and was playing the new address as my Daily 4 numbers," said Miller. "Those numbers fell out last week, the one day I didn't play, so I decided to spend the money on a Powerball ticket."
Miller works full time as field support staff for an insurance company and goes to school part-time to earn her Master of Business Administration degree in Accounting.
"I was working on a school project yesterday and decided to take a break and check the Powerball numbers," said Miller. "I thought there must have been a misprint . . . online."
There was not a misprint. Miller matched four of five numbers plus the Powerball number. The winning numbers from the Saturday, April 17 Powerball draw were: 5-21-22-41-49 PB:15. The Power Play multiplier was 5.
Miller, an Allen County resident, purchased her winning ticket from Sparky Mart at 4935 Bluffton Road in Fort Wayne. She doesn't know exactly what she is going to do with an extra fifty grand, although she thinks that most of it will go toward her MBA tuition.
Christina MainsMains, a Madison County resident and other Powerball winner, purchased her winning ticket from Ricker's #3 at East 1102 State Road 128 in Frankton. She claimed her $50,000 prize today along with her fiancee.
"I only play Powerball when the jackpot gets big," said Mains. "And I don't normally buy Power Play but for some reason I did on this purchase. It was actually my first time."
Mains is a nurse and thankful that she chose Power Play. She and her fiancee plan to build a new home with their winnings.

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is $252 million since no ticket sold matched all six numbers to win Saturday's jackpot.
There is still one unclaimed $1 million prize from the Saturday night Powerball draw. That winning ticket was purchased from Family Express at 298 W US Hwy 6 in Valparaiso.

Players should always sign the back of their tickets. Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim a Hoosier Lottery draw game prize. The Hoosier Lottery reminds all players to play responsibly.
