Hoosier Lottery announces $43.8 Million Hoosier Lotto jackpot winner!
INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 6, 2019) – Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah Taylor announced today that one Indiana family claimed, as Marvel, LLC., the $43.8 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot from the Aug. 10, 2019, drawing. Taylor presented a representative for the winners, Beth Duncan of Hardin & Duncan Financial Group with their winnings at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.
It was a normal grocery shopping trip for the husband and wife, who on occasion, enjoy playing Hoosier Lotto. On this trip, they had some extra time and decided to visit the Hoosier Lottery vending machine to play. They thought to themselves that they should buy a ticket, because it just may be their day to win! You just never know!
At home on Sunday after the drawing, and while busy in the kitchen, the wife remembered to check the numbers from the night before. After checking and re-checking the numbers, she realized they had won, and immediately called her husband who was at work. After a few minutes of disbelief, reassurances, and more re-checking of the numbers, the feeling of nervous excitement grew along with a feeling of gratitude!
They are certain that the reality of winning this prize is still yet to come, but they plan to take their time and make wise decisions! Plans for this prize money include paying off debt, taking care of themselves and enjoying life. They look forward to relaxing a little more, and to allow their family and future generations of their family to enjoy the comfort of this gift. They look at life as a gift, and they consider this an added blessing in their lives.
The winners had the choice to take payment of the $43.8 million as a 30-year annuity or in a one-time lump sum payment. The winners chose to take the lump-sum cash option of $29.2 million before taxes.
One ticket matched all six numbers in the Aug. 10, 2019, Hoosier Lotto drawing. The winning numbers for the Aug. 10, 2019, drawing are 4-5-7-12-15-35. The winning ticket was purchased at Jay C Plus located at 389 Old Capitol Plaza NW, Corydon.
