Fort Wayne Man Finds Himself in the Right Place, Right Time

ShawINDIANAPOLIS – A Fort Wayne man found himself in the right place at the right time when he unexpectedly bought a winning Hoosier Lottery ticket at Rickers at 14309 Leo Road in Leo last Wednesday.
Allen County resident Larry Shaw had lady luck on his side when he told the clerk, "Give me three of those Lucky 7s."  One of those Lucky 7s tickets turned out to be a top-prize winning ticket worth $77,777.
Shaw claimed his prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters Monday.
As for his winnings, the retired crane operator said he hasn't decided how he will proceed, but he knows he plans to "take it slow."
"I wouldn' t mind having a new car," said Shaw. He cracked a smile as he said, "I might trade up."
Since 1989, Hoosier Lottery players have won more than $7.6 billion in prizes. The Hoosier Lottery has transferred $3.7 billion to the state for the benefit of the citizens of Indiana.
