Kathy Cregar is retired and lives in the tiny town of Holton, about 90 minutes southeast of Indianapolis. Her daughter lives in nearby Batesville, and Kathy visits her often. After one of her visits, Kathy was driving home and decided to stop and buy a couple Powerball® tickets.
The day after the drawing, Kathy was watching TV and saw a news story about a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket that was sold in Batesville. She quickly realized she had the winning ticket!
“I was so excited when I realized I won,” said Kathy. When she told her husband, he was very excited as well.
The couple plans to put Kathy’s winnings in savings for now and may use some of it to purchase a new vehicle.
