For Powerball, he has been playing the same numbers for 10 years. He has won $500 multiple times playing Scratch-offs, and $1,000 playing Powerball. He usually plays at the Meijer in Fort Wayne.
When Eric found out that he won, he was sitting inside Meijer. He looked at his ticket in total disbelief. He scanned his ticket on the Hoosier Lottery app multiple times to make sure it said $500,000. The first two people Eric told were his mother and father. His mother gave him a deer in the headlights look, and his father hugged him telling him how happy he was. Eric works for an asphalt contractor and plans on using the prize money to pay off the rest of his house. He considers the whole experience to be a “total roller coaster,” but he is grateful to be a big winner.
